I suppose the obvious question is:

Having created the layout in Adobe Illustrator, can you extract it somehow into
    • Architect ?
    • items config for Ext JS ?
    • CSS changes?
It seems a shame to go to the trouble of laying it out in Adobe and then have to duplicate all your work in Architect or by hand.

  2. The stencils are meant to help designers come up with and create designs for apps that are going to be built with Ext JS. Instantly going from a picture to working code - however cool it would be - is not possible with any tool or framework I am aware of.

However, you can extract some CSS from your designs, Adobe has tutorials on this and you can find more info here: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/...xtraction.html

That being said, you shouldn't need to extract CSS from your designs for every design, because we took great effort to make sure that all the assets available in the Illustrator files look exactly the same as the themes that are available in Ext JS. This means that, given you didn't change the appearance of components in your designs, all you need to do when building the app is apply the theme of your choice.

Architect is not dead. It is currently in development for Ext JS 6. The reason Architect 6 is taking a little time to release is because it needs re-engineering due to the new merged frameworks. You'll have Architect and maybe even some other tools to help design going forward.
