Default ST app does not load with certain Cordova plugins

I am using Sencha Touch within Cordova for a hybrid app on iOS and Android, and the app does not load in iOS, if certain Cordova plugins are included.

    Touch version tested:
    • Touch 2.4.2

    Developed and built with:
    • Architect 3.2.0.339
    • CMD 5.1.3.61
    • XCode 7.2.1

    Packager version tested against:
    • Cordova 6.0.0

    Device and OS tested against:
    • iPhone6, iOS 8.4.1

What theme are you using for your application:
    • Default

    Steps to reproduce the problem:
    • Create Cordova project
    • Add iOS as platform
    • Add plugins
    • Copy all files except index.html from Touch production directory to the adequate Cordova directory (/path/to/project/platforms/ios/www/)
    • Edit index.html in that directory to contain the title of the project and the automatically created script to include the app
    • Run the app on the device with XCode

    Used Cordova plugins:
    • cordova-plugin-console 1.0.2
    • cordova-plugin-device 1.1.1
    • cordova-plugin-inappbrowse 1.2.1
    • cordova-plugin-network-information 1.2.0
    • cordova-plugin-splashscreen 3.1.0
    • cordova-plugin-whitelist 1.2.1
    • net.yoik.cordova.plugins.screenorientation 1.3.3.1

    The result that was expected:
    • A regularly starting app, as it occurs, when the production build is opened in a browser

    The result that occurs instead:
    • The app fails to load
    • XCode displays this message: 'The app "AppName" on "iPhone" quit unexpectedly. Message from Debugger: Terminated due to Memory Error'

    Default

Removing the autogenerated javascript code and replacing it with a link tag pointing to the style sheet and a script tag directly including the app.js starts the app regularly and enables the use of Cordova plugins. This seems to work under both Android and iOS. Why is this the case, and what is the use of the autogenerated code?
