what is Ext.dd.DragTracker for?
I've been trying to figure out drag&drop in Ext for a couple days now, and I understand the basics. But, as I was browsing the Image Organizer example, I came across the Ext.DataView.DragSelector plugin in the DataView. I have a grasp as to what it is doing, but I'm trying to figure out how it affects the function of the Example. I removed the plugin from the DataView and the example still worked. Going through the DragTracker code didn't really help much.
What am I missing? What exactly is being tracked (x & y coords of the mousemove event?) and why? And, is there a reason that DragTracker is not in the docs (besides that it just isn't documented yet) ?
when drag and drop happens, proxy panels are created, one which goes around with your mous e pointer and the other which has dotted border in the place of your actual source panel.
the actual source panel is hidden somewhere in the dom.
the xy cord's are calculated for the same reason to check the destination location and calculate the probable drop position. once you mouse up , the proxy panel is replaced with the actual hidden source panel. that is the reason u see blank panel while u r dragging, instead of panel with some content.
tricky n gr8 way whoever has done.
i mite b wrong in some of the above logic.
I appreciate your explanation, but I already knew that, and that doesn't explain the need for DragTracker.
