Default The application is slower (upgraded from 4.0.7)

    Hello,

We upgraded our application from v4.0.7 to v6.0.2 and now it is much slower, specially when opening pop-ups.

Is there any way to increase performance? Compressing the framework or with any special config..?

    Thank you

Seems strange that opening pop-ups would be slower. Did you refactor your code to take advantage of functionality released in 5.x/6.x or mainly just upgrade to get it working with the new version? Are you able tell (using browser developer tools) what is taking so long? Probably a longshot, but are you able to recreate the slowness in a test case?

When transitioning from pre-4.1 forward the layout system is significantly different. In most cases this should make things faster, but perhaps the way the application's view are structured actually entails more work. You should be able to see if layouts are perhaps in play using Sencha Inspector since the connection can be established before opening the popup. There are also new API's in 4.1+ that can help address layout performance (Ext.suspendLayouts/resumeLayouts), but first thing to do is as Gary suggested: see if the problem area(s) can be identified and then ask some more specific questions along those lines. Some older articles may help explain how the Ext JS layout system operates and how to optimize its usage. Even though these articles are a few years old, the core of the layout system has not changed so the content is still correct and should help.

The "Page Analyzer" mentioned in those articles has since been subsumed in Sencha Inspector.
