Thread: Always display Editor in EditorGridPanel

    Question Always display Editor in EditorGridPanel

    Is there any way to have an Editor Grid panel with all of the editors displayed by default? I have tried clicksToEdit:0 and -1 but nothing is giving me what I want. I basically want the grid cell replaced entirely with a combobox for a whole column. Instead of the before edit and after edit events, I can use the combobox's select event. Thanks for your help!

    That would take far to many resources (and slow down the browser considerably).

    Which advantages would that solution really have?

    The only advantage I can think of is that you can see which cells are editable, but you can solve that with a little CSS, e.g.

    Code:
    .x-grid3-row td.x-grid3-td-<id-of-column> {
    	background-color: white;
    	padding: 0;
    }
    .x-grid3-row td.x-grid3-td-<id-of-column> .x-grid3-cell-inner {
    	border: 1px solid #a9bfd3;
    	padding: 2px 3px 2px 5px;
    }

    Yes, and also having "Edit" links/buttons column for each row will be very useful. On click on this link/button transfer a row into an editable row with already rendered editor form elements. There are some examples on the Net with this feature.

    Default So - not possible?

    There may be no clear programtic advanteg to havign the editor always visible - but y client is mandating it - I have a simple Grid and they want to see the textfield always present - is that possible?
