This was my first real app with ExtJS, that i'd thought I'd share. Some things were much harder than expected which other items were dirt simple. I'm sure to most people here this is a dirt basic application.
Either way it turned out pretty good, getting to work properly on all browsers was a real headache, but at least it totally feels like file explorer. We already have a couple hundred users using it in the first couple of weeks, so it's been real stable so far.
Check it out. You'll need to create an account to check out the cool stuff. If you promise to tell a few friends about it, just post your account there, and i'll see if i can get you a free 25 gig account.
Very nice! Nice looking, simple and clean. Does just what you'd want it to without getting in the way .
I'd be interested in hearing some of the challenges you ran into in developing such a site. I'm about to add a file-upload feature to a project I'm working on so that users can attach files (office documents & photos) to work records they manage using my application. My thought was to give each work record it's own subdirectory as a starting point for them upload files to, and create sub directories in, just like you allow each user to manage a subdirectory of all their files.
Overall it took about 3 weeks on and off between working on many other projects. FireFox's Debugging tools was a life saver but getting it all to work on IE6 as well as IE7 probably took the most time. IE7 had an issue where the OnReady wasn't called properly that took forever to debug. :/
