    Still, all certification shows is the ability to memorize. I've had people who can memorize the crap out of something but are poor problem solvers.

    When I interview, it's a whole process. I don't softball it. I use Topgrading techniques to get to the soft skills, and I create relevant scenarios that the person must build/solve during the interview. Coupled with an aggressive culling process, you can quickly build a strong team that way.

    Certification is debatably useful, much like a rear spoiler on a Ford Focus, but definitely not what I consider fundamental and necessary. I won't offload my testing to some company (Sencha or otherwise) with a vested (conflicting?) interest in selling certifications.

    The only current way to get anything from Sencha is to do the training where we now give certificates to attendees who complete the course.

    This is not a certification as such, but going through the course is quite extensive, so anyone with a certificate will understand the framework at a deeper level than the average dev.
