    Try (untested):

    Code:
    var el = Ext.get(document.documentElement || document.body);
    el.mask(...);

    I tested it, and now it can blotted out the whole page, but the wating panel which always in the center has gone to the top left corner.

    I make a simple test :
    HTML Code:
    <html>
     <head>
      <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="../resources/css/ext-all.css" />
      <script type="text/javascript" src="../adapter/ext/ext-base.js"></script>
      <script type="text/javascript" src="../ext-all.js"></script>
      <script>
        Ext.onReady(function(){
          Ext.getBody().mask('ddd');
        });

      </script>
     </head>
     <body>
      <br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
     </body>
    </html>
