The issue isn't all "is grid a good and better than Ext JS' grid". The issue is "I don't want to use Ext JS right now so what can I use right now?" Right now, there isn't a grid that compares to Ext JS' grid when you need a super complex grid that can scale. There are, however, grid solutions that can work and will work right now. Are they feature for feature as good as Ext JS? No, even if it supports something Ext JS doesn't (ag-grid can lock columns to the right, Ext JS doesn't have that).

    Modern 6.6 does.
Longtime Sencha engineer. Now surplus to requirements apparently...

I've seen it before but I haven't heard Idera say they are committed to pushing it over the goal line. This is part of the uncertainty they have yet to address in any meaningful way which is why I'm not sticking with Ext JS and it's fantastic grid but am using something else even if it's sub-Ext JS quality.

What browser did you use? Tested on Windows 7 & 10 with Chrome 62, checked exactly the same node and it never added more than 2 "tbody" elements for me. Tomorrow I'll make a video.

Chrome 62 on macOS 10.13. No need for a video, I'll trust that you are fully able to look at the DOM too

Are you allowed to work on something similar to ExtJS at Modus? Bluntly put, re-release it under your new company name. Shouldn't make a difference to us if we pay you directly for your work instead of Idera. Or is that too difficult to do legally?

Just found out why I couldn't reproduce it: if you scroll by dragging the scrollbar, it's all good, but if you scroll by using mouse wheel, then it works the way you showed. I'll try to report a bug and see if they do anything about it.

Anyone can take a GPL release and modify it, the license is somewhat permissive. The commercial releases would not be allowed and there hasn’t been a GPL release since 6.2
