    Default Custom inputs

The form inputs are still somewhat lacking, for instance multi-select fields are not currently available and I am going to need to implement some custom inputs.

I have noticed however that adding standard html inputs to a FormPanel does not seem to add them to the form in that they are not picked up by form.getValues(). Is there a recommended way to set up custom inputs?

You are going to want to extend Ext.field.Field (or a subclass) for your custom component. The form functionality works with those Ext components, not standard HTML elements.
