    Default ST code not working on Firefox and Edge browsers

    Hi,

    I used Sauce Labs to run my test cases. When I tried Firefox 57, the test case just failed giving the error:
    Failed with error "mouseMoveToBuild info: version: '3.4.0', revision: 'unknown', time: 'unknown'System info: host: 'WIN-SB3ER6JQ6ME', ip: '10.100.26.159', os.name: 'Windows 10', os.arch: 'x86', os.version: '10.0', java.version: '1.8.0_91'Driver info: driver.version: RemoteWebDriver"

    I tried it using Firefox 50 and then with Edge ver 16, it failed with the error:
    Failed with error "Underlying driver does not implement advanced user interactions yet."

    When I tried the same test case using Firefox 44, the test case ran.
    Doesn't ST 2.1.2.1 code work on the recent Firefox & Edge versions?

    Regards
    Ramesh

    Hi Ramesh,

    For Firefox, you're probably running in to compatibility issues with Selenium. Please see the response in this thread. You would have more success with Firefox 46 or lower.

    I'm not sure why the test would fail in Edge. Do you have a sample test case that replicates the issue? Which Sencha Test APIs are you using when it fails?

    Hi Dan,

    The thread referred to, was started by me, so I got it.

    The code which failed in Edge 16, was just to login to our website. It is the third line which did not execute:
    ST.textField('#tbUserName').setValue(uname);
    ST.textField('#tbPassword').setValue(password);
    ST.button('#btnLogin').click();

    This code works perfectly well on Chrome 63

    Regards
    Ramesh

    @Ramesh, @daniel I am having the same issue with Firefox and Safari, click() is simply not executed
    ST 2.1.2
    Selenium standalone server 3.8.1

    Also Chrome is not working whit Selenium standalone server 3.5.0 or above. Socket connection errors are thrown.

    @daniel you may be joking with Firefox 46. Curent Firefox version is 57. Testing on 46 or below is outdated and we can better test manually on latest browser versions. No real life user will use Firefox 46 just because Sencha team is not capable to make ST work

    Is ST doomed? Do we have to switch to other more reliable solutions like Siesta? Are you technically capable to fix these issues?

    We have plans to address browser compatibility issues as part of the Sencha Test 2.2.0 GA release.

    For Firefox, the main reason we've been recommending Firefox 46 and Selenium 2.5 in the past is due to geckodriver not being feature complete (see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/...bDriver/status).
