    I wonder what is the version of JavaScript what backed for Ext JS 6.5.3 ?
    (ECMAScript 2015, ECMAScript2016, or what else?)

    It is ECMAScript 2015.

    The framework itself has been ES5 since you don't have to use Ext JS with the Cmd tool and Cmd is where the newer specs are supported (transpiled down to ES5) but even that transpilation is optional. You can do many ES2015+ syntaxes like const and let, you can use class for non-Ext JS subclassing, you can use destructuring mostly, arrow functions and object shorthand.

    One thing to note about some of this is strict mode is turned on automatically when you use certain syntaxes like object shorthand. This means that callParent would not work so you'd have to use something like this.superclass.fnName.call(this, arg1, arg2)
