Question user permissions interface... checkbox treePanel within a formPanel

I am trying to insert a treePanel with checkboxes into a formPanel in order to toggle user permissions on an item by item basis (items are stored in a database and returned into the treePanel via JSON). I am being thrown the error 'f.clearInvalid is not a function' when attempting to populate the form using the load() method. I believe I have read elsewhere that elements created dynamically or through the add() method don't really exist in the form and thus the error, but i could be wrong.

I was wondering if this is indeed the case, and if so, what is the standard workaround?

    thanks folks.

    Default

the formPanel is expecting its children to have certain members like markInvalid, isValid, and clearInvalid. Just create empty references at the config option level. use Ext.EmptyFn
