    This is very simple. Add a module to your project with the facet GWT, add the library gxt.jar to the module. Create or move your existing GWT module into the sourceof this module and you are ready.

    If you use the gwt-maven plugin to create your project, it works out-of-the-box with IDEA's Maven and GWT support.

    I use idea 8.1, if you create a new java project their should be a GWT option. if you click on your folder, you can choose New -> Google Web Toolkit -> Sample application that should take care of that.

    Default GWT and IntelliJ

    Check out a older screencast.
    http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/training/demos/GWT.html

    Also, I do remember having to adjust the memory heap settings for the compiler in GWT.
    Think here...
    IntelliJ->Preferences->Compiler->Java Compiler->Maximum Heap Size
    and change that value to 512

    otherwise, I remember having problems when you
    <inherits name='com.extjs.gxt.ui.GXT'/>

    Heap size in IntelliJ has to be increased to make this work. The previous instructions for increasing heap doesn't work. Here is how to properly do it:

    1) Click File->Project Structure
    2) Click Modules
    3) Click GWT
    4) Change "Compiler maxiumum heap size (Mb): to 512
    5) Click OK.

    Once you do this, you should now be able to compile.

    Default CSS and compile errors

    I have set up a project in Intellij, but when I run hosted mode, it can't resolve the EXT stylesheet properly or the images. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

    I followed the directions and everything seems correct, but I get a Resource not found on startup and the project won't compile and browse.

    Do I need to explicitly set the -out parameter in Intellij?
