Default maximize into a panel(conference example)

In one of the presentations, I saw a feature I wasn't aware of. I can't remember which one though(I should have written it down!)

When you clicked on a navigation item, the info you were looking for maximized into a panel on the right(allowing you to re-use a panel for multiple ext items, like a grid, or dataview, etc...)

I have a border layout, with a grid in the center, and a navigation tree on the left(west). I need to have my grid disappear, and a report view show in the same panel the grid was previously shown in....

in the example, there was animation, like the panel started from a pixel, and expanded to a box that filled a panel....
    ring any bells with anyone?

    Default

    chirp...chirp(crickets)

    anyone remember that?

it may have been in the 3.0 signature example, which used a dataview I believe.
(in fact, I'm sure of it...found a note I wrote.)
since dataview binds to a store(so no panels inside a dataview)I guess I'll switch to a tab panel view, instead. Nevermind!
