Question please help: problems on portal's layout

I have an application that need to use portal and portlet for implementation. Do anyone know how to insert rows in the portal?
seems there are method for inserting columns only, If I need two rows, the first row contrains two columns and the second row contains three columns, do I need to use a vertical panel and add two portal(for two rows) instead? I have tried to use more portals for similate rows, but the portlet cannot be drag to another other portal?
Please help. Thank you very much.

    Regards,
    Matrix

Having done similar work already, you would probably all be better off implementing your own DnD code using DragSource and DropTarget. I posted a few months ago about how to use DragSource with a handle:

    http://extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70239

Define the DropTargets (containers) as you need them, and allow each object (DragSource) to be place in any of the containers.

If someone does write a "multi-col-per-row-portal" could you wrap it up in a Widget and post it? I'm sure it would be appreciated
