Default Grid with autoheight not expanding to show all rows

Hi, I posted a reply to another thread about this, but I'm not sure that was the right place....
    http://extjs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4601

I'm new to ext (awesome stuff!) and have a grid with autoheight turned on. The problem I'm running into is that the grid doesn't seem to be resizing enough to show all the rows (there are only 3). Instead, the horizontal scrollbar covers the bottom-most row and a vertical scrollbar appears. There should be plenty of room on the page for the grid to expand further, but I can't seem to get it to resize properly.

This is loosely based on the grid example "from-markup". I'm not sure which code snippets might be relevant here, but please let me know if you need to see anything. I will attach a screenshot that is hopefully clearer.

Did you give your grid container div width and height?

I have tried that but it doesn't seem to make a difference in how the page renders.
