    Default Password filed with constant number of displayed dot

    Hi everybody,

    all is in the title

    m_password.setPassword(true);

    I'm not sure, i was very clear

    I have this password field

    Code:

    private TextField<String> m_password ;

    m_password = new TextField<String>();
    m_password.setPassword(true);
    The problem is that my passwords are crypted so, their size is very large.
    So I want to know if it's possible to display in my form a password field with a constant number of dot (8 for example) ?

    Thx

    AFAIK, the html input element cannot do that

    you could, however, try to add a change-listener to your passwordfield and whenever it's changed, you remember the input and set your fixed 8 character-pwd to the visible pwd-field.
    However, I'd not recommend to do that.
    Why is it a problem to show the long input text?

    This would be an own implementation. You can capture the key that gets pressed, save it somewhere else and always display your random number of stars in the actual field.
