Default Setting Dynamic Focus to a TreePanel

I have a TreePanel that is inside a Panel.

The user can hide the initial panel and work elsewhere and then pop the panel back up.

When the Panel is redisplayed I need to set the focus on the TreePanel so I can use the arrow keys to navigate it.

I have tried tree.focus(); but that does not seem to work.

If I click on the TreePanel then it will allow me to navigate.

How can I set the focus dynamically via code to the TreePanel?

    Am I missing something here?

    Thanks,
    KEC.

    Default

I can navigate with errors upon initial start. When I hide the panel that contains the treepanel and then reshow it, then I can need to set the focus to the TreePanel.
