FusionCharts Brings Powerful JavaScript Data Components to the Idera Family!

Idera, Inc., the parent company of Sencha and many other exciting software productivity brands, recently announced the acquisition of FusionCharts, a market leader in JavaScript charting components and tools. FusionCharts will join Idera’s Developer Tools business unit that includes Embarcadero, LANSA, Sencha, Whole Tomato and Froala. As the General Manager of Froala and Sencha, I am thrilled to include FusionCharts under my leadership umbrella.

What does FusionCharts do?

FusionCharts empowers developers to build user-friendly, visually appealing dashboards for web and mobile projects. The company’s products include FusionCharts Suite XT, FusionTime, and FusionExport charting libraries that offer 100+ interactive charts and over 2,000 data-driven maps. FusionCharts products are easy to use and include extensive documentation, consistent API, and cross-browser support to build data visualization for projects of any complexity.

How does the acquisition benefit the Sencha Community?

Sencha customers will directly benefit from this acquisition as it complements the products with additional robust charting capabilities. FusionCharts easily integrates with any JavaScript framework or server-side programming language—allowing users to stay with their development methodology and enhance their existing projects with advanced charting and dashboard elements.

Our focus on best-in-class tooling, both cross-framework components and the most productive stand-alone framework has never been stronger. The acquisition perpetuates Ext JS in the broader ecosystem of JavaScript and will allow us to continue to focus on improving the performance and capabilities of the framework and components. Ext JS grid and out-of-the-box components including existing charting components will continue to be enhanced.

FusionCharts has integrations for React, Angular and other Open Source Frameworks. Sencha products that cater to frameworks outside the Ext JS ecosystem will benefit from this acquisition as it strengthens the overall portfolio of components offered.

We continue to hear excellent reports on performance from our Ext JS 7.1 release and the upcoming 7.2 release is just around the corner. We expect this to be released in the coming weeks and are working hard to get this in your hands.
