Sencha AI Just Got a Lot Bigger

Sencha’s AI assistant has grown from a focused Ext JS helper into a product-aware chatbot covering the whole Sencha suite. Here’s what’s new and why it’s great news for developers.

When we introduced the Sencha AI Coding Companion back in May 2025, it did one job brilliantly: answer Ext JS questions instantly, in plain English, with working code. It was built for one framework, trained deeply on one set of docs, and it gave the Ext JS community a genuinely useful head start.

From day one, we were excited about where this was headed. The original announcement laid out a roadmap: bring that same experience to the rest of the Sencha and Idera product family: Cmd, Architect, Themer, IDE Plugins, GXT, Sencha Test, Inspector, Rapid Ext JS, ReExt, and more.

That roadmap has now shipped and here’s what’s new, and why it’s a genuinely bigger deal for every developer building on Sencha.

From a Focused Assistant to a Product-Aware Platform

The assistant that started with deep Ext JS expertise now recognizes which product you’re working in – and tailors every answer accordingly.

From a Focused Assistant to a Product-Aware Platform

Under the hood, the assistant accepts a product parameter right in the URL (https://chatbot.sencha.com/?product=Cmd, for example), which grounds every answer in that product’s own documentation. Ask the same question against two different products and you’ll get two precisely tailored answers – targeted and relevant whether you’re fine-tuning a Cmd build script or exploring a GXT theme.

Eleven products are now live with the AI icon, meaning full conversational, documentation-grounded support across.

You don’t need to install anything. Just head to Sencha documentation -> Select Product -> Ask Sencha AI and start chatting. Ask about components, architecture, events, theming – anything product related – and get answers tailored to your development needs.

In other words: the “what’s next” list from our original post is now the “what’s live” list – a promise kept, and a strong signal of the momentum behind Sencha AI going forward.

Why This Is Great News for You

Adding more products to the assistant isn’t just a bigger feature list – it changes how teams work day to day, in ways that add up quickly:

Why This Is Great News for You

  • One front door for the whole stack. Most Sencha customers use more than one product – building in Ext JS, generating boilerplate with Architect, theming with Themer, automating builds with Cmd, and testing with Sencha Test. Now, one assistant follows you across the entire toolchain, giving your team a single, consistent way to get expert answers everywhere you work.
  • Answers that match your exact context. Because the assistant is scoped to the product you’re using, every response is precisely targeted. That’s the difference between a quick answer and one you can trust completely.
  • Faster onboarding, more time building. New team members and teams adopting a second or third Sencha product can self-serve instant, accurate answers. That means less time waiting and more time shipping great software.
  • A consistent experience as your stack grows. As you add products, the interaction model stays the same everywhere: ask a question, get a grounded answer. That consistency is a real gift to developer teams scaling up their use of Sencha.

Part of a Larger AI Investment at Sencha

This expansion is a deliberate initiative from the Sencha team, a continued investment in giving our developer community the fastest, most reliable path from question to working code, across every product we build. It reflects how Sencha’s AI engineering team thinks about the product line as a whole: turn documentation into something you converse with rather than something you search through, everywhere Sencha shows up in your workflow.

And we’re just getting started. Deeper personalization, richer contextual awareness within specific docs pages, and even tighter integration with tools like Fiddle and Inspector are natural next steps for an assistant that now spans the full suite – all part of Sencha’s ongoing commitment to its developer community.

How This Fits the Broader AI Landscape

AI-assisted developer tooling is having a moment across the whole UI-component space and it’s a great time to be a developer than ever investing in making documentation and workflows smarter.

How This Fits the Broader AI Landscape

Start using Sencha AI Coding Companion Now

Sencha AI takes a complementary approach, purpose-built around getting Sencha developers a correct, product-specific answer instantly, with zero setup required. Just open Ask Sencha AI, pick your product, and start asking – no LLM integration, no adapter code, no configuration to manage. It’s the fastest path to an expert answer, tailored to exactly the Sencha product you’re using.

AI is making developers across the industry faster and more confident. For teams building with the full Sencha suite, having an assistant that already knows every product out of the box means more time building and less time searching, a clear win for the Sencha developer community.

Try It Now

The expanded assistant is live today at Ask Sencha AI. Pick your product from the list above, or jump straight to a specific one – for example, https://chatbot.sencha.com/?product=Architect for Architect-specific answers and start asking the questions you would normally spend twenty minutes chasing through docs.

If it’s been a while since you last tried Sencha AI, now’s the moment to take another look and the assistant you remember has grown to support everything else you’re building with, thanks to this latest initiative from the Sencha team.
