Webinar: Sencha Ext JS 101 - Building Apps for Multiple Platforms

Ext JS is very different than other HTML5 libraries like AngularJS. Developers today have an incredible number of tools to choose from – and it can be very challenging to pick the one that’s best for any project.

Most of the popular open source HTML5 libraries focus the development effort on writing raw HTML markup, using CSS and JavaScript to enhance the handwritten, hard-coded templates. While that approach does enable the creation of completely customized UIs, the downside is that an incredible amount of work is left to the developer to build this functionality from scratch (or cobble together from third party sources).

Ext JS takes a different approach to building applications by focusing the development effort primarily on JavaScript. As a comprehensive component framework, every widget can be easily extended and customized without forcing developers to start from scratch. And with support for more browsers than other libraries, Ext JS concentrates on adding robust functionality rather than building a customized stack of third party add-ons.
