The final leg of Roadshow 2016 ended Tuesday in Santa Clara. Beginning last week, we visited New York City and Chicago to show off Sencha Test, Architect 3.5, theming, and share a sneak peek at our Ext JS Roadmap. We had Jason Cline, our Director of Engineering, members of our local Sencha teams, and myself available to answer questions about Sencha products.

The highly interactive sessions included presentations, not just from Sencha folks, but also customers who are building enterprise web applications to solve complex business problems.

In New York City, Erik Hawk from Barclays Capital and Simon Charlat from JP Morgan Chase discussed how and why they use Ext JS for their enterprise applications. Following their individual sessions, they fielded questions from other customers and provided insights on why they chose Ext JS over other frameworks and how using Sencha Cmd has helped them during the upgrade process. After the sessions, customers interacted one-on-one with Sencha folks, including Phil Merola and Marc Gusmano, along with the presenters.

In Chicago, Dev Madhanagopal from Meridian Health Plan spoke about why they chose the Ext JS framework, after completing an exhaustive evaluation process. Both he and our Director of Sales, Roger Jipp, answered questions from the audience.

Jason Cline, our Director of Engineering, spoke in detail about the new tools and capabilities that are currently under development at Sencha including: D3 integration, grid enhancements, a new calendar component, and our plans to support ECMAScript 6 in Ext JS. This gave attendees a chance to provide their feedback and feature recommendations.

Shikhir Singh, Sr. Developer Relations Manager at Sencha, demonstrated the wireframing capabilities of Ext JS Stencils with Sketch. He spoke about the various theming aspects available with the Ext JS framework and highlighted the capabilities of Sencha Architect.

In Santa Clara, Kristin Brennan, VP of Marketing, kicked off the sessions highlighting the core benefits that Sencha provides as a company. Sandeep Adwankar, Product Manager for Sencha Tools, demonstrated Sencha Architect by creating a really cool web application. And, Gautam Agrawal, Sr. Director of Product Management, wrapped up the session with an overview of the Ext JS roadmap. There were lots of questions from the audience.

I enjoyed my stay in NYC (who doesn’t?) and thanks to our Sr. Marketing Specialist, Simmi Kaur, had a great dining experience at Chef’s Club with the team. Though the weather didn’t co-operate in Chicago, we were able to find a place downtown to try the signature deep dish pizza that was recommended by our Sales Engineer, Dan Gallo. Oh, I also talked a bit and demonstrated Sencha Test at all three US events. I answered lots of questions from the audiences and gathered great feedback to use in prioritizing upcoming features.

You can keep up with all of the upcoming Sencha events. We’ve also announced SenchaCon 2016. Register today to take advantage of Super Early Bird pricing ($995 – limited to first 100 registrants). We’ll be in Las Vegas, November 7-9. I hope to see you there and talk with you about all of the latest advancements in our products and tools.
