Management

Stratton Sclavos Executive Chairman

Stratton Sclavos is the Executive Chairman of Sencha. He has enjoyed a 25-year career as an entrepreneur and business leader in Silicon Valley’s high-technology industry. He was formerly Chairman of the Board, President, and CEO of VeriSign Inc., where he started as one of its first employees in 1995 and led the company as it grew into an international corporation with more than 4,000 professionals and $1.6 billion in revenues. Under his leadership, VeriSign became a Fortune 1000 and S&P 500 company listed on the NASDAQ market. He holds a bachelors degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California at Davis. In November 2007, Sclavos joined Radar Partners, a professional investment firm focused on both public and private investing.

Michael Mullany CEO

Michael has more than 12 years’ experience in product marketing and management for Silicon Valley software companies. Prior to Sencha, he held product and executive marketing roles at influential Silicon Valley startups Netscape, Loudcloud and VMware. At virtualization leader VMware, he served as the vice president of worldwide marketing during its break-out into server computing. Most recently, he was VP marketing & products for startups Engine Yard and Peakstream (acquired by Google). Michael has an extensive track record of defining and executing product and go-to-market strategies. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BA in economics from Harvard College.

Ted Driscoll Vice President Worldwide Sales

With more than 20 years of experience in software development and infrastructure sales, Ted most recently spent four years at Nokia Qt Development Frameworks division. While there, he led the worldwide sales organization for more than two years, after serving in other sales management positions at his previous company, Trolltech (acquired by Nokia in 2008). Prior to Trolltech, he was western regional director of sales and service for Agitar. Earlier in his career, Ted spent eight years in various sales roles at Rational Software (now IBM). Ted holds a degree in computer science from North Adams State College.

Abraham Elias Chief Technical Officer

Abraham is responsible for overseeing the company's strategic direction and enabling its rapid growth as a global provider of application development software and services. He most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at BH Capital Partners. Abraham's results driven management and introduction of commercial open source solutions enabled BH Capital to become one of the fastest growing privately held companies in Florida. Abraham brings an entrepreneurial spirit and a proven track record of achieving revenue goals and profit growth.

Jeff Hartley Vice President of Services and Training

Jeff’s broad-based executive management experience has been built from roles at both large and small high-tech companies during his 20-year career. He most recently served as vice president of products and marketing for Terracotta, a leading enterprise data virtualization company. In earlier roles, he managed enterprise pricing, product management, and services functions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, E.pihany, Loudcloud, and EDS. Jeff began his professional career as an armored cavalry officer in the United States Army. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BS in engineering and mathematics from the United States Military Academy.

Adam Mishcon Vice President of Operations

Adam serves as the Company’s Vice President of Operations, bringing over 15 years executive experience building leading businesses. Adam obtained his Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University with honors, triple majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics. Adam went on to earn a law degree from Duke University Law School, and practiced corporate and contract law with the prominent firm of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. From there, Adam led business divisions for Bayview Financial, a prominent national financial institution, achieving record growth and sales.

Judy Lin Vice President of Engineering

Judy has more than 20 years of experience leading startup and established businesses. Prior to joining Sencha, Judy was Chief Product Officer at Silver Spring Networks, a provider of Smart Grid solutions for global utilities. Before Silver Spring, she was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco’s Ethernet Switching Technology Group, and Senior Vice President and General Manager at Electronics for Imaging, a leading provider of imaging solutions. Previously, she joined VeriSign in 1996 as a founding member of the development team, where she was instrumental in building the technology, infrastructure, and products that led the company to $1.5 billion in revenue. Prior to joining VeriSign, Judy held a variety of software development and management roles at Taligent, Apple Computer, and Hewlett-Packard, where she worked on the Macintosh operating system and HP’s first commercial UNIX products. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in computer science and European history from the University of California at Berkeley.

Technical Team

Jamie Avins @jamieavins

Jamie Avins leads the graphics team at Sencha and also manages a wide range of other projects. He is an expert in a diverse range of both client and server technologies that includes 20 years of real world experience in the industry.

Aaron Conran @aconran

Aaron Conran leads the development of Ext Designer. Aaron has been involved with Sencha since its very beginnings and has an in-depth understanding of Ext JS internals and architecture. He has demonstrated mastery of the Ext JS library and client-side development practices.

Ariya Hidayat @ariyahidayat

Ariya Hidayat leads the WebKit team at Sencha. He has been a passionate open-source advocate for the last 10 years, and has contributed code to many projects including WebKit, Qt, and KDE. Before joining Sencha, he worked in the Web Technologies group inside the Qualcomm Innovation Center. Prior to that, he worked on the Trolltech Qt Development Framework (now part of Nokia). Ariya holds a Ph.D magna cum laude in optical communication systems from the University of Paderborn, Germany.

David Kaneda @davidkaneda

David Kaneda leads the Sencha design team. He has over eight years of experience designing in a variety of fields, from architecture and fashion to education and software. Recently, David created Outpost, an iPhone app for Basecamp, and jQTouch, a Javascript framework for iPhone development. David also maintains WebKitBits, a site about the browser engine in Safari, Google Chrome, and the iPhone. David brings his wealth of design knowledge to Sencha, and is responsible for the look and feel of our websites and software.

Darrell Meyer @darrellmeyer

Darrell Meyer leads the Ext GWT product team at Sencha. Before joining the company, Darrell was the creator of the popular open source MyGWT Widget Library for Google Web Toolkit (GWT). Darrell brings his expert Java and GWT knowledge to Sencha. With 10+ year’s experience building enterprise web applications, Darrell is equally well versed as both a software architect and user interface expert.

Ed Spencer @edspencer

Ed Spencer is senior architect for Ext JS. An expert with Ext JS and JavaScript in general and with several years experience with traditional server side frameworks, he has broad experience in API design and delivery. His passion is in crafting beautiful code that supports the world-class Sencha product line.

Yuki Naotori @naotori

Yuki Naotori is responsible for Sencha Japan, Sencha’s Japanese affiliate. Yuki is the founder and CEO of Sevens Inc, a consulting and web development firm with a specialization in GIS-based applications. He was previously a founder of Open Associates Inc. At Open Associates, Yuki helped a number of software companies, both Japanese and international to enter and expand the markets for their products and services. Yuki is also a skilled Ext JS application developer, winning first prize in the Mashup Award contest with his Ext JS-based ONGMAP application.

Nicolas Belmonte @philogb

Nicolas is the creator of the JavaScript InfoVis Toolkit, a web standard based toolkit to create advanced data visualizations for the Web, and V8-GL, a hardware accelerated graphics library built on top of the Google V8 JavaScript Engine. Nicolas’s main interests are web standards and information visualization. You can find him blogging at thejit.org.

Jacky Nguyen @nktpro

Jacky Nguyen is one of the core engineers behind Sencha frameworks. With his well-rounded knowledge and experiences on both server-side and client-side development as well as industry best practices, he is responsible for designing and improving Sencha frameworks’ overall architectures. He was the author of MooTouch, which has become a part of Sencha Labs. Jacky is passionate about bringing innovation to software development and developers.

Arne Bech @arnebech

Arne Bech leads development on Sencha Animator. He is passionate about technology; in the past he has designed and built physical products as well as run his own web company in his native Norway. Arne holds a M.S in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Don Griffin @dongryphon

Don Griffin is the technical lead for Ext JS. He was an Ext JS user for 2 years before joining Sencha and has over 20 years of software engineering experience on a broad range of platforms. His experience includes designing web application front-ends and back-ends, native GUI applications, network protocols and device drivers. Don’s passion is to build world class products that people love to use.
